What Is CEA Study Abroad?
CEA is an organization that was developed to give students from the United States and Canada the opportunity to expand their educational horizons with foreign study. Since 1997, CEA study abroad programs have sent countless students to a total of 14 countries which include but are not limited to Argentina, England, China, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, South Africa and others. The goal is to help students learn on a global level and experience the world while getting an education.
Then there is CIEE study abroad. This organization can take you anywhere from Thailand to Russia – wherever best suits your educational and career goals. There are 45 subjects available for study, 40 countries you can choose from and 119 different programs. That means there is something for everyone, all over the globe. You could study architecture in Italy or cooking in France. You could immerse yourself for language study in Argentina. There are so many opportunities for learning and life experience through academic travel.
CEA offers a variety of financial programs for students who cannot foot the bill of overseas study. There are scholarships available, such as the Financial Need Scholarship, Foreign Language Scholarship, Academic Excellence Scholarship and many others. There are also federal financial aid programs and alternative sources of funds to help cover the costs of international study. Therefore, money is no excuse to miss out on the experience of a lifetime. The benefits gained from studying abroad will follow you for life, in both practical situations and job applications.
The fact that you spent time abroad to advance your education is not missed on potential employers or post-graduate applications. It is not mandatory to do so, therefore when you are being judged for a certain position this will be favorable for you. In today's globally connected society, a student with experience studying abroad may simply be considered more sophisticated and ambitious than a student with the same GPA who has not studied abroad.
When you begin researching CEA study abroad opportunities, don't forget to line up all the legalities like your travel insurance and passport. There will be plenty of paperwork to go through and various tasks to complete before you board an airplane for your exciting new study destination. Parents who have questions can learn more, as can students, by speaking with an advisor at CEA. It may also help to talk to the professional at your university about travel study and what is right for you.
